Slow-Cooker Smothered Steak

1-1/2 lbs. beef chuck or round steak, cut into strips
1/3 c. all-purpose flour
1 t. garlic salt
1/4 t. pepper
14-1/2 oz. can diced tomatoes
10-oz. pkg frozen French-style green beans
4-oz. can sliced mushrooms, drained
1 onion, sliced
1 to 2 green peppers, sliced
3 T. soy sauce
2 T. molasses
cooked rice or mashed potatoes


In a 4-quart slow cooker, combine steak strips, flour and seasonings. Stir well to coat steak. Add tomatoes with juice and remaining ingredients except rice or potatoes. Cover and cook on high setting for one hour. Turn to low setting; continue cooking for 7 hours, or until steak is very tender. Serve steak mixture ladled over cooked rice or mashed potatoes. Makes 6 servings.
