Coconut-Cranberry Bars

1-1/2 c. plus 1/3 c. all-purpose flour, divided
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. chilled butter
2 c. sweetened flaked coconut
1 c. sweetened dried cranberries
3/4 c. chopped walnuts
3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
3 eggs, beaten
1-1/2 t. vanilla extract
1/4 t. salt


In a large bowl, combine 1-1/2 cups flour and sugar; cut in butter with a pastry blender or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press mixture into an ungreased 13"x9" baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden. Remove from oven. Combine all remaining ingredients; mix well. Spread over warm crust in pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes longer, until golden. Cool completely; cut into bars. Makes about 20.
