3 pts. strawberries, hulled, sliced and divided
3/4 c. sugar
4 t. cornstarch
9-inch pie crust, baked and cooled
Optional: whipped cream
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine 1/3 of strawberries with sugar and cornstarch. Cook and stir until thickened; remove from heat and cool. Meanwhile, fill cooked, cooled crust with remaining strawberries. Pour cooled sauce over berries; cover and chill. Serve topped with whipped cream, if desired. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
