Chocolate-Orange Balls

6-oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 c. sugar
3 T. corn syrup
1/2 c. orange juice
2-1/2 c. vanilla wafers, crushed
1 c. chopped nuts
Garnish: assortment of colored sugars


Combine chocolate chips, sugar and corn syrup in a heavy saucepan; heat and stir until chocolate is melted. Remove from heat; stir in orange juice. Add vanilla wafer crumbs and nuts; mix well. Chill until firm. Form dough into one-inch balls; roll in colored sugar. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 to 4 weeks. Makes about one pound.
