National Book Network Announces Distribution Transition to Simon and Schuster and Rebrands Publishing Program to Globe Pequot Publishing Group
Globe Pequot Publishing Group (GPPG), the book publisher behind some of the best-known regional, outdoor, cooking, nature, and children's gift books in the country, is making an exciting change. Beginning September 1, 2025, Globe Pequot will transition distribution from National Book Network (NBN) to Simon & Schuster (S&S). This move comes with a significant rebranding of the NBN gift division—an industry mainstay for nearly four decades—to the Globe Pequot Publishing Group.
This change brings together the comprehensive title portfolio of 12,000 bestselling titles under the GPPG name, including:
- Gooseberry Patch cookbooks
- Waterford Press folding pocket-sized guides for wildlife identification, outdoor recreation and survival skills
- Falcon Guides outdoor recreation and adventure
- Muddy Boots children's books
- Pineapple Press Florida and Southeast titles
- Down East Books books about Maine
- TwoDot focusing on Old West and regional U.S. history
- Globe Pequot imprint focusing on New England and the Northeast
- Square One alternative health-related topics

Seamless Transition Planned
Globe Pequot has prioritized continuity of service throughout the transition process. All orders in the NBN system prior to September 1 will be fulfilled with NBN, with any remaining backorders communicated directly to customers for re-entry or cancellation decisions.
"Our goal is to achieve zero lost shipping days for our customers," said Robert Marsh, President of Globe Pequot Pyblishing Group. "We are planning this transition carefully to maintain the exceptional service our trade partners have come to expect."
Account and Credit Terms
Existing credit terms for gift stores will remain similar under the new arrangement, though Simon & Schuster may conduct credit reviews as part of the transition process. NBN will facilitate account setup for existing customers transitioning to S&S, while new customers will follow standard S&S account procedures.
After September 1, 2025, orders will be processed and shipped from Simon & Schuster's Jackson, Tennessee facility, potentially affecting shipping carriers and delivery timelines. S&S's MarketTime platform will handle credit card processing for seamless payment processing.
