8 to 12 Cortland apples, cored, peeled and sliced 1 c. brown sugar, packed 1/3 c. corn syrup 1/4 c. water 3 T. butter, sliced 1/3 c. all-purpose flour cinnamon to taste Garnish: sweetened whipped cream
To a greased 13"x9" baking pan, add water to 1/4-inch depth. Arrange apple slices in pan. Bake, uncovered, at 375 degrees for
30 minutes. Drain; arrange apples evenly in pan and set aside. In a saucepan over medium-low heat, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, 1/4 cup water, butter and flour. Cook and stir until thickened; spoon over apples. Sprinkle apples with cinnamon. Bake at 350 degrees for an additional 15 to 20 minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream. Makes 12 servings.
