4 to 5 Fuji or Gala apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced 1-1/4 c. apple juice, divided 18-1/4 oz. pkg. spice cake mix 1/2 c. butter, melted 1/4 c. brown sugar, packed 1/4 c. rolled oats, uncooked 1/4 c. pecans, coarsely chopped
Arrange apple slices in the bottom of a lightly greased 13"x9" baking pan. Pour 1/2 cup apple juice over apples. Sprinkle dry cake mix over apples and smooth it evenly across the pan. Sprinkle remaining apple juice evenly across cake mix layer; drizzle with butter. For topping, mix brown sugar, oats, and pecans with a fork until no lumps remain. Sprinkle evenly over top. Bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes, until cake begins to turn golden. Makes 8 servings.
